JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Psychologist to join our team in Essex. The successful candidate will work with a diverse caseload, providing evidence-based psychological assessments, interventions, and training. This role offers a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to address the mental health needs of our community.


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Proven experience working with children and young people with complex mental health needs.
  • Expertise in delivering evidence-based interventions (e.g., DDP, CBT, DBT, ACT).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development and reflective practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist psychological assessments of children and young people based upon the appropriate use, interpretation, and integration of data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, observations and information gathering from those involved in children and young people’s care, such as, parents, local authorities, schools etc. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and support staff, to provide integrated care.
  • Formulate and implement tailored plans of psychological intervention / management of children and young people’s mental health difficulties.
  • Undertake psychologically based risk assessments and management plans for individual children and young people; ensuring the team around the young person understands the psychologically informed evidence-base and rationale for this.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Offer consultation and supervision to other professionals as required.
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
