Description:

We have exciting posts available for qualified and HCPC registered Clinical and Counselling Psychologists to join Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP). Posts are advertised at Band

These roles involve working in a Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), where Psychologists are highly valued and form part of a wider multidisciplinary team, including other psychological professions in some areas (i.e., CBT Therapists and Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioners). They offer the opportunity for a variety of work including delivering psychological therapy, completing specialised neuropsychological assessments, and supporting the wider team through team
formulation, consultation, and supervision.

meetings and hold regular away days and time out sessions. In addition, the MHSOP Care Unit promotes the importance of professional developmen
We have recently been able to provide access to post-qualification specialist training, alongside holding regular established CPD sessions. Psychologists are highly valued by the MHSOP Care Unit, and you would be supported to actively engage in service development and organisational change. As a department, we are currently
involved in several service development projects including pathways for psychological therapies, SMI, and complex emotional needs. In parallel, the Care Unit is reviewing the provision of psychologically informed care, staff training to support this work, and embedding new roles to facilitate the delivery of psychological interventions at different levels. Psychologists are integral to this process, and you would have opportunity to both support and participate in these developments.
In addition, you would become part of a wider network of Psychologists across the Trust, facilitated by an Associate Director for Psychological Professions, with regular opportunities to connect. We also have excellent relationships with local professional training courses and academic institutions, which also provides further research, supervision, and teaching opportunities. Vacancies are currently based within different localities with Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire and different working patterns could be considered.
We have a huge variety of opportunities in our expansive Trust covering geographically from South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire to Leicester, providing mental health inpatient and community services, community health services, forensic mental health services and secure prison healthcare across the East Midlands.
We have more than 100 sites and a huge scope of unique opportunities to develop your career and gain some amazing experiences. The Mental Health Division of the Trust comprises of three directorates; Adult Mental Health, Mental Health Services for Older People and Specialist Services. We strive to be a great place to work and offer many staff benefits and tailored staff support and wellbeing programmes.
