WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Full GMC (General Medical Council) registration
- Appropriate specialist qualification (MRCPCH by examination or equivalent)
- A national / international reputation and expertise in the field of paediatrics (commensurate with the career stage)
- A sustained track record in attracting high levels of research funding (commensurate with the career stage)
- An excellent record of research, evidenced by a portfolio of research publications, confirming international standing (commensurate with the career stage)
- Experience of supervision of higher degrees (PhD), MD(Res))
- Experience of supervising medical staff
- Appropriate level of clinical knowledge
- Understanding of clinical risk management
- Evidence of expertise in an appropriate field

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an exceptional candidate for the post of Clinical Reader/ Chair Paediatric Child Health who will be integral in providing academic leadership in the field of child health and co-ordinating the research on the Chelsea and Westminster site. You should have particular expertise and interest in life course research, with a focus on the impact of ill health in early life on later life outcomes such as obesity, diabetes and metabolic conditions.
WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING
You will be expected to enhance and substantially increase the existing early life and child health research on the Chelsea and Westminster campus and across West London Children’s Healthcare. It is intended that you will have a focus on metabolic/endocrine paediatric medicine, encompassing a broad spectrum. You will work closely with colleagues across the Faculty of Medicine and the Trust, in particular the Mohn Centre for Child Health and Wellbeing, as well as the West London Children’s Healthcare and Imperial Centre for Paediatric and Child health (PaeCH), to support academic activity.
