The Coordinator will use traditional methods and social media to elevate the PMBB’s reputation to ensure the PMBB’s work achieves maximal impact.
Job Description
The Penn Medicine BioBank (PMBB) is seeking a Clinical Research and Engagement Coordinator to develop and execute communication activities for the Penn Medicine BioBank. The Coordinator will use traditional methods and social media to elevate the PMBB’s reputation to ensure the PMBB’s work achieves maximal impact. Duties include website content creation, maintenance, and enhancement; content generation for social media (X, Instagram), newsletters, brochures, etc.; development of surveys videos, educational and training materials, etc. Supports internal communications regarding events and conferences, meets regularly with PMBB leadership to assess communications needs and priorities. Builds and maintains relationships with groups across Penn’s campus engaged in BioBank related research.
In addition, the Coordinator will manage and coordinate clinical research activities for multiple research studies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies. They will oversee participant recruitment, screening, enrollment, conduct patient visits, participate in initiation, monitoring, audit and close-out visits, collect review and report study data, and supervise and train incoming interns, CRAs, or other study team members. They will participate in study team meetings, and ongoing protocol training, place orders for study medications or materials as needed, and assist in the development/maintenance of study specific case report forms and source document tools.
Job Responsibilities:

Engagement:

  • Use traditional methods and social media to elevate the PMBB’s reputation to ensure the PMBB’s work achieves maximal impact.
  • Website content creation, maintenance, and enhancement; content generation for social media (X, Instagram), newsletters, brochures, etc.; development of surveys, videos, educational and training materials, etc.
  • Supports internal communications regarding events and conferences, meets regularly with PMBB leadership to assess communications needs and priorities. Builds and maintains relationships with groups across Penn’s campus engaged in BioBank related research.
  • Consult with BioBank’s project teams regarding engagement plans and activities. Contribute to BioBank meetings and projects (works in progress, staff meetings, and workshops as needed)
  • Support proposal development (i.e. engagement plans and stakeholder feedback), stakeholder events, and project dissemination activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with groups across Penn’s campus engaged in BioBank related research. Attend events as needed

Clinical Research:

  • Manage and coordinate research studies within the Penn Medicine BioBank
  • Assist in development of study documents.
  • Communicate with study team members and regulatory review boards.
  • Recruit, consent and screen patients according to protocol.
  • Schedule patient visits and any necessary testing.
  • Conduct patient visits.
  • Monitor patients per protocol requirements and ensure adherence to protocol requirements.
  • Organize and maintain all documentation required by the Investigator, sponsor or CRO, includes source documentation, case report forms, and research charts.
  • Collect, review and report study data.
  • Complete case report forms and resolve data queries.
  • Participate in initiation, monitoring, audit and close-out visits.
  • Participate in study team meetings, and ongoing protocol training.
  • Order study medications or materials as needed.
  • Assist in the development/maintenance of study specific case report forms and source document tools.
  • Show vigilance in patient safety, protocol compliance and data qualify.
  • Participate in any IRB audits and serve as the point of contact.
  • Supervise and train incoming interns, CRAs, or other study team members.
  • Adhere to all University of Pennsylvania, FDA and GCP guidelines.

Qualifications

  • High School Grad/GE Degree, and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Bachelors degree and 1-2 years of job-related experience preferred.
  • Prior experience and proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office software such as Excel and PennBox, Outlook, RedCap, EPIC, and LabVantage.
  • Prior experience utilizing photo and video editing software including Adobe Premier Pro, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Express and Canva.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with team members, other University employees on an interpersonal level, both verbally and in writingResponsive service orientation

      This Targeted Pay Range is only applicable to this job posting. All salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
