Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated nurse with recent specialist acute cardiology clinical experience to join our clinical trials team based at St Richards Hospital, Chichester as a Research Nurse.
As a valued member of the team you will help people access studies and change future NHS treatments and patients’ lives for the better. This exciting position will provide the ideal opportunity to develop clinical research experience and learn new skills.
Research experience would be desirable but we will provide comprehensive training and support for the applicant.
There is 1 full time post available for up to 37.5 hours per week, weekdays only.
We welcome applications from those who currently hold a UK NMC registration. If you currently hold an overseas nursing qualification and require sponsorship we are not currently direct hiring Internationally Qualified Nurses.
Work collaboratively with the other members of the Cardiology research team to support and manage the progress of allocated clinical trials and research undertaken in the Trust, maintaining an accurate account of project status and records as required.
Work collaboratively across professional and organisational boundaries within and outside the NHS and develop professional relationships with other relevant organisations including non-commercial bodies and pharmaceutical sponsors that promote the delivery of quality clinical research within UHSussex.
Proactively manage change in a manner which achieves results and drives initiatives forward along a continuum of improvement in keeping with current and forthcoming organisational strategies and health trends.
At UHSussex, diversity is our strength, and we want you to feel included to help us always put the Patient First, as shown in our Outstanding for Caring CQC rating. Your uniqueness and experiences will be part of our creative and innovative community where everyone is encouraged to succeed. We have a range of Staff Networks to help break down barriers, and can offer a buddy to help new members settle in. We’re proud to be a Disability Confident Employer (Level 2) and a Veteran Aware Trust.
We treat our patients and staff with the same compassion and empathy we expect for ourselves. We’re here for them when they need us, and we go above and beyond to meet their needs. This can be seen in our Wellbeing Programme for staff which is extensive and designed to support you when you need it because we know that to look after others we must first look after ourselves.
As a university trust and a leader in healthcare research, we value learning, teaching and training so that we can be the best that we can be. From the moment you start with us and throughout your career we will help you to grow and develop.
We hope that in choosing UHSussex you are choosing a long and happy career where you will be able to see the difference you make and feel valued for all that you do. We look forward to receiving your application and the start of your journey with UHSussex.
The post holder will work within our team of clinical research nurses working mainly on the Cardiology portfolio of studies.
The post-holder will provide clinical care to patients who participate in research studies, supporting them in their decision-making to participate in trials, strict protocol adherence, data collection and entry onto relevant electronic databases, and organisation of visits, relevant tests and procedures ensuring patient safety is paramount at all times.
The post holder will also be responsible for promoting research within Trust departments and supporting colleagues and local investigators to deliver high-quality research activity to support patient care. The role requires flexibility and the ability to work as a team member and under own direction.
The post is up to 37.5 hours per week.
