WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Clinical Research Scientist II - Delivery Sciences – Global to join our team in the Lab located at our Head Office in Liberty Village, 15 Fraser Avenue, Toronto, M6K 1Y

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • MSc. in Biochemistry or a related discipline, with 1-2 years of industry experience.
  • Excellent documentation practices.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to work independently and in a team with minimal supervision.
  • Solution oriented problem solver with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Acting as an internal subject matter expert on skin biology, pathology, molecular & cell biology and relevant biological techniques, and carrying out relevant experiments
  • Designing and evaluating cell and tissue-based studies to understand the mechanistic pathways that are activated with different treatments.
  • Analyzing and quantifying active penetration in the skin using classical analytical techniques such as Franz cell and HPLC.
  • Evaluation of protein expression and specific biomarkers as needed from skin models to support new product development and asset preparation for key markets.
  • Understand and anticipate emerging techniques and technologies to provide DECIEM with an advantage in skin research.
  • Exercises solid judgment to prioritize studies, considering feasibility and project impact.
  • Deep understanding of clinical/skin science, and clinical testing in the cosmetics industry.
  • Scours relevant scientific literature and routinely incorporates new insights into research activities.
  • Explores the feasibility of applying new scientific principles/concepts or implements and validates new experimental approaches and technologies to achieve project goals.
  • Supporting the rest of the team and development initiatives as needed
