Description:
To assist in the provision of scientific support and advice to the external beam treatment planning service. To produce and check external beam treatment plans both routine and complex, and to provide scientific advice to radiographers and clinicians. To assist with the training of Radiotherapy trainee Clinical Scientists, Planning Radiographers, BSc Radiography and other students as required. To assist with the training of nursing and other staff in radiation safety, and the use of the High dose rate afterloading brachytherapy treatment machine.
To assure compliance with current legislation on Radiation Safety including the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 and the Ionising Radiations Medical Exposures (IR(ME)R) Regulations. The postholder will be required to concentrate for prolonged periods e.g. in the measurement and analysis of scientific data
