About King’s
King’s College London is one of the highest-ranking Universities in UK and the World. You will be part of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences which was placed number one in the UK in the last Research Excellence Framework assessment. We are a forward-thinking academic community with access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources. Join us in advancing toxicology knowledge and making a positive impact on the health of our environment and ourselves!
About the role
We are seeking a Clinical Academic with purpose to build capacity for research and education in Metallomic Toxicology within the School of Cancer and Pharmaceutical Sciences at King’s College London. The post will strengthen the academic leadership of the London Metallomics Facility. The appointee should be specialised in how metals cause adverse effects in humans. We are particularly interested in appointing an individual who studies the adverse effects of metals as consequence of gene polymorphisms.
The post holder will contribute to writing and publishing high quality papers in peer-reviewed journals. They will devote a proportion of their time to developing high quality and successful research grants in line with Faculty and College metrics. Development of collaborations with researchers across the Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, the Faculty and King’s, as well as partnerships with the forensic science community both in the UK and internationally will be an important aspect of the post-holder’s portfolio. It is expected that the successful applicant will further King’s legacy in metallomics research and work in association with the London Metallomics Facility.
The role requires an educator who will inspire student engagement and improve student outcomes through education delivery. As such, the appointee will be well qualified to provide education contributions to modules across the UG and PGT portfolio led from the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Clinical services could be delivered at the Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, or at an appropriate alternative Trust.
