Clinical Support Worker - Radiology

An opportunity has arisen, within the Radiology Department, for a Clinical Support Worker to work alongside our Radiographers within the Radiology Department at Furness General Hospital and Ulverston Health Centre.
This position will provide an exciting challenge for a dynamic and empathetic team player, with excellent communication skills and enthusiasm, who enjoys working within a hospital environment.
The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the Radiology team. The main responsibilities will include receiving our patients into the department, providing assistance to patients and working alongside radiographers, sonographers and radiologists during examinations.
Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
The successful applicant would be expected to participate in the Bank Holiday rota where necessary. Flexibility to be able to work 4 mornings per week and weekends will be required.

The successful candidate will be required to work at both Furness General Hospital and Ulverston Health Centre assisting in the X-Ray departments at both sites. The role entails:

• performing a range of administrative tasks, reception work and

record keeping.

• assisting radiographers and radiologists in non-radiographic clinical

tasks
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
