Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

With a focus on optimising the use of our clinical systems, the Clinical Systems Development and Training Advisor is responsible for the administration and development of our clinical systems, as well as developing and delivering technical training programs to ensure that staff are proficient in their use. This position requires strong technical skills in system development and configuration, as well as communication skills and the ability to tailor training for a diverse range of healthcare professionals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead administration and maintenance of our key clinical systems (VCare, MediMap and FileVision) providing first line support in addressing questions and troubleshooting system issues
  • Support the Area Manager in the development of clinical systems, including changes to configuration, testing, troubleshooting and implementing improvements
  • Develop and update training materials, including user guides, presentations and e-learning modules for care staff to ensure efficient and compliant use of clinical systems
  • Work with the Learning & Development Advisor on clinical training and ensure training delivered is captured in the Dayforce Learning & Development module.
  • Conduct classroom-based, on-site and virtual training sessions for care and administrative staff at various levels, covering the functionality, benefits and troubleshooting of systems
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including the clinical quality team to assess system requirements, functionality and recommend improvements
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to determine learning objectives based on system updates, new hires, or new system implementations and ensure these are appropriately planned and recorded
  • Liaise with other organisations e.g. software providers, Health New Zealand, InterRAI New Zealand, Ministry of Health, to keep up to date with system and practice changes
  • Develop peer networks to keep abreast of current thinking
  • Maintain competency in technical knowledge and clinical practice appropriate to the role.

Ideal Person Specification

  • Experienced user of VCare
  • Experience with project coordination and implementation, development and configuration of systems
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and training best practices
  • Clear and simple writing style
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate effectively to people with a wide range of technical skill and capability
  • Current full driver’s licence and willingness to travel
