ABOUT US:

New England North West Mental Health Service (NENW MHS) seek a dedicated and passionate Senior Occupational Therapist or Senior Social Worker who is at the top of their field to join our team in a brand-new Clinical Team Leader position. This Clinical Team Leader will work across the community teams of the North West (NW) arm of the NENW MHS, closely aligned with the Adult MHS. This team has Mental Health Clinicians based at both our Tamworth, Gunnedah, Narrabri, and Moree sites who provide service across the NW catchment using a combination of face to face and telehealth services. This position will be site negotiable between Narrabri and Moree.
This is a newly formed team, and you will have opportunity to be part of further developing the service for NENW. As a new position to the team, you will have opportunity to work with the NW Community Manager, NW Clinical Co-ordinator and the NENW MHS leadership team to develop the position to maximise the effectiveness and enhance the care provided to NW communities.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree providing eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association/full registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW and travel for work purposes.

Responsibilities:

This role will have both clinical and operational responsibilities including Operational management and on-site clinical leadership to the community team based in Narrabri and Tenterfield, in collaboration with the Community Manager and Clinical Coordinator for North West.

In your role as a senior clinical leader, you will:

  • Deliver high quality evidence based clinical care to consumers in the NW.
  • Provide specialist clinical consultation
  • Be available to guide the day-to-day practice and coordination of clinicians
  • Be a point of contact for escalation with clinical and operational matters
  • Ensure that patient care is delivered in accordance with professional, legal, and ethical standards, while championing evidence-based practices.
  • Manage service delivery, monitor clinician workloads and performance, and provide ongoing supervision and support to maintain seamless care.
  • Contribute to operational planning, meet service targets and KPIs, and ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Act as a professional lead for their discipline across the NENW.

The successful applicant will be supported in this position by the Community Manager, Clinical Coordinator and Head of Discipline. Clinical supervision is available and encouraged. The successful applicant will become part of a wider HNELHS MHS network as will have access to support and education from key district support positions.
