Clinical Technical Specialist (Austria & Baltics)

We are now seeking a Clinical Technical Specialist to join our Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) team. This role will be based in Austria (Home office) and cover Austria and the Baltics region, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to improving people’s lives with world-class hearing solutions.
Your Profile:
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join Cochlear starting on 01.01.2025. During the first six months, this position will be part-time (50%) to allow for a smooth onboarding process and training. From 01.07.2025, the role will become full-time (100%).
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Audiology, Engineering, or related fields (Master’s preferred).
Driving license is mandatory, as regular travel within Austria (up to 60%) and internationally (approx. 10%) is required.
Strong communication skills in both German and English.
Passion for customer care and building strong professional relationships.
Familiarity with public health services, hearing aids, and implantable hearing solutions.
Technical affinity: Comfortable troubleshooting technical issues, software programming, and fitting services.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Your Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Technical Specialist, you will:
Accountability 1:
Provide Clinical and Technical Support to Patients, Clinical Professionals and Service Partners
Provide reliable and outstanding clinical and technical support (on-site/phone/email/online) to patients and clinical professionals: switch-on/fittings, complex cases, intraoperative measurements.
Keep all professionals informed and updated on new clinical or technical information and field issues.
Timely address complaints; forward them in accordance with the internal complaint reporting procedures, follow-up on results and feedback to professionals.
Address competitive issues in a professional and competent way.
Conduct on-site integrity testing at the request of professionals or when there is a suspected device failure, write reports for each integrity test and follow internal and legal reporting procedures to the competent authorities.
Back up Clinical Technical colleagues across the CEE region in case of need
Accountability 2:
Clinical & Technical Customer Care
Ensure close customer relationship by face-to-face clinic visits, actively participating and supporting symposia, congresses, and workshops. Thereby your support can include presentations and representing Cochlear at the booth.
Inform and support clinics and third parties in all aspects of the hearing implant treatment path (e.g. patient selection, candidate referring, reimbursement, (re-) habilitation, etc.)
Support the sales team by identifying potential business opportunities, ensuring that customer. feedback is communicated effectively.
Establish strong relationship with all professionals with the goal to increase Cochlear’s market share and increase sales.
Accountability 3:
Train Clinical Professionals and Service Partners on Cochlear’s Products & Services
Provide trainings on Cochlear’s products and service offerings to clinic professionals and service partner on demand. This includes on-site introduction of new and established products (CI/Osia/Baha/Connected Care), training on intraoperative measurements, surgical procedure and fitting of the sound processors.
Introduce all new products upon product launch providing on-site trainings to clinics and service partners, installing new software as required or requested from the professional.
Deliver general presentations at public events (e.g. congresses, workshops, seminars) thereby learn how to present and train with impact.
Accountability 4:
Continued Professional Growth
Complete Cochlear’s learning pathway for field staff within the first year comprising different classroom trainings including product, clinical-technical and surgical trainings on CEE and EMEA level.
Attend Cochlear’s internal trainings (mostly online) specific to Cochlear Global and Cochlear EMEA
Participate actively in international and national cochlear implant or related conferences.
Stay up to date with present literature on clinical technical topics e.g. by joining the Cochlear CEE journal club
Keep up to date on self-education (e.g. join voluntary training opportunities on soft skills and individual development) and learning on the job.
