Description:
The post holder will join the General Surgery research team which is one of the Directorate Research Teams.
The General Surgery Team work across the directorate to support the delivery of first class quality care to research participants within Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (STH). The General Surgery Team manage a portfolio of research studies that are conducted within STH Clinical Directorates and within the NIHR Sheffield Clinical Research Facility (CRF).
The post holder will assist in supporting a portfolio of clinical trials, from study set up to archiving, in accordance with clinical trial protocols, laboratory manuals and all relevant regulatory standards.
The role will involve completing and submitting documents to the Clinical Research and Innovation Office (CRIO) obtain approvals; collecting, recording and maintaining research data records; entering activity data and extracting information from databases, providing clinical and administrative support to Research Nurses including performing clinical tests and investigations, processing and shipping samples and assisting with screening and recruitment processes. Post holders may also support, and be responsible for, relevant studies in their own right.

The General Surgery Team are part of the Directorate Research Team who are involved in the delivery of clinical research across STH. We support the delivery of a wide range of studies, including studies from within the NIHR Sheffield Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) and NIHR Sheffield Clinical Research Facility (CRF).
