Job Purpose
Based in our Milton Keynes office, You will be part of talented team of engineers that demonstrate technical competency, delivering mission-critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security.
Principal responsibility of checking and ensuring Ekco and client infrastructure are in working order and any issues identified are resolved within SLAs with a sustainable resolution.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VMware and NetApp Specialist to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Software-Defined Data Centers (SDDC), designing, deploying, and managing vSphere clusters, and a strong background in NetApp Storage integration with VMware. The VMware Specialist will be responsible for managing software-defined networks, creating and managing automation in VMware vSphere, and utilising various command-line interfaces (CLI), especially configuring the Lenovo NetApp units through (CLI)

• VCP-DCV (VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization)
• VCAP-DCV Deploy (VMware Certified Advanced Professional – Data Center Virtualization Deploy)
• VCP-NV (VMware Certified Professional – Network Virtualization)
• NetApp Certified (relevant NetApp certification)

• Ensure delivery of any activity to the highest professional standards.
• Ensure resolutions are achieved within SLAs.
• Ensure a good relationship between the client and Ekco
• Ensure all Infrastructure team checks (Infrastructure, Backup & DR and Monitoring systems) are performed on a daily basis and all major issues are escalated within the Infrastructure team, escalating when required to senior engineers within the Cloud & Security team or/and to Service Desk engineers, in time for SLAs to be met.
• Work as part of the Infrastructure Team to ensure security, reliability and availability of all hosted services
• Monitor and test backup data for potential issues, identify possible solutions and work with other technical experts and/or Cloud & Infrastructure team
• Assist in maintaining client satisfaction within the Infrastructure team.
• Ensure the achievement of targeted KPIs
• Ensure that the Knowledge base is updated with any problem / solutions found.
• Ensure that the Infrastructure Team Processes are followed.
• Adhere to all incident management/change process in alignment with all activities and escalations.
• Responsible contact with relevant authorities for Information Security and the responsibility for Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability for ISO27001 for Junior Infrastructure engineer service provision
• Design, deploy, and manage VMware vSphere clusters.
• Integrate and manage NetApp Storage solutions within the VMware environment.
• Create and manage software-defined networks using VMware NSX-T.
• Utilize Linux-based CLI, VMware PowerCLI, and NetApp CLI (ONTAP) for system management and automation.
• Develop and manage automation processes within the VMware vSphere environment.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of infrastructure systems.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for VMware and NetApp environments.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in VMware and storage technologies.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and changes according to company standards.
