Our Team
The Architecture Team at Bauer Media Audio drives the transformation of our systems by designing and overseeing the implementation of online capabilities across web, mobile applications, and connected devices. These systems enable seamless interaction between BMA, its partners, and audiences while delivering scalable, high-performing, and resilient customer-facing digital platforms that can handle heavy traffic.
As part of the Architecture Team, you’ll join a group of dedicated experts focused on aligning our cloud and digital strategies with business goals, addressing technical challenges, and driving innovation across the organization.
The Main Focus of the Role
As a Cloud Architect, you will provide technical leadership across development teams, cloud operations, and cross-functional stakeholders. You will design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-first architectures while ensuring these solutions are adaptable to a rapidly changing technology landscape. This role is key to supporting Bauer Media Audio’s transformation journey, ensuring high performance, security, and collaboration across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with developers, QA, and DevOps engineers, offering mentorship, technical guidance, and advocacy for best practices.
- Promote and guide the adoption of cloud-first development principles and the implementation of scalable, resilient architectures.
- Provide subject matter expertise and leadership in designing resilient cloud architectures that align with product roadmaps and organizational objectives.
- Foster collaboration across cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless communication and alignment of technical solutions.
- Oversee technical governance, ensuring adherence to frameworks like the AWS Well-Architected Framework and internal standards.
- Ensure all solutions meet stringent requirements for security, scalability, and performance across platforms.
- Work closely with engineering managers and principal developers to align systems with architectural policies and best practices.
What We’re Looking For
Core Skills & Experience:
- Proficiency in at least one of the following core areas, with a willingness to expand knowledge across others:

- Strong experience with cloud-native platforms, particularly AWS.
- A solid understanding of modern software delivery pipelines (e.g., CI/CD and automated testing).
- Familiarity with open-source software and Open API methodologies.
- Proven experience with high-traffic, highly available managed services.
- Awareness of modern security practices and strategies for addressing emerging threats.
- Knowledge of data handling challenges and best practices for secure, scalable solutions.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
Candidate Profile and Team Structure
Team Structure Under the CTO:
- The Architecture Team will consist of four members: The Platform Architect and your line manager, a Solutions Architect, and plans for a Cloud Architect and a Software Architect.
- You will collaborate with core teams, including Full Stack Development, Mobile, Cloud Operations, and Backend Development, as well as supporting teams in Delivery and QA.
- The Cloud Architect will focus on cloud standardization, governance, and best practices, providing holistic guidance across disciplines.

- Innovation Leadership: Bring holistic guidance to highly disciplined teams to ensure scalability and resilience in high-traffic environments.
