QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience: Proven experience (5+ years) as a Cloud Architect or Senior Engineer in a SaaS company with a strong focus on hands-on technical delivery.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
SKILLS:
- Expertise in designing scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud architectures using platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, leveraging services such as compute, storage, and networking.
- Proficiency in modern architectural patterns, including microservices, event-driven systems, serverless computing, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong knowledge of frontend frameworks (e.g., React) and backend technologies (e.g., Node.js, .NET) used in cloud environments.
- Solid understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies, security best practices, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to design scalable, maintainable systems across multiple product areas.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools is a plus.
Responsibilities:
ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for developing the architectural strategy for our cloud-based systems, with a focus on designing and building hands-on reference implementations for essential components, including UI elements, microservices, and cloud infrastructure. You will assess existing tools and frameworks to determine feasibility for reuse, while also identifying and developing new solutions to meet the demands of upcoming product features and scalability requirements.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and leadership to create scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-based architectures. You will provide hands-on technical leadership in building key application components, serving as a technical mentor to engineering teams while ensuring architectural best practices are followed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Architectural Design & Strategy: Design cloud-based architectures that meet scalability, security, and cost-efficiency goals for SaaS products while defining a roadmap for the implementation of cloud-native solutions, focusing on building reusable reference architectures for essential components.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to all engineering teams, promoting best practices in software development.
- Collaboration: Partner with product managers to ensure that architectural decisions align with business goals and future product features.
- Continuous Improvement: Advocate for and implement continuous improvement practices within the engineering organization, including process optimization and the adoption of new technologies.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve complex technical challenges, ensuring the robustness and scalability of our software solutions.
- Documentation: Create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for architectural designs, reference implementations, and best practices to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing across teams.
