Join our dynamic team as a Cloud Governance and Cost Analyst, where you’ll be responsible for establishing and enforcing cloud governance policies, optimizing cloud costs, and ensuring that cloud resources are used efficiently, securely, and in compliance with organisational and industry requirements. WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Cloud monthly consumption and Forecasting
- Departmental billing claim back letters preparation
- Management meeting minutes review and preparation
- Technology selection researcher (comparing other providers of the same product)
- Cloud service request costing
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document cloud governance policies and guidelines. Ensure that these policies align with the Client’s objectives and industry regulations.
- Proficiently manage and analyse cloud costs, billing, and expenses to ensure cost-efficiency and budget adherence.
- Assist in the preparation of invoices and claim backs for financial processing.
- Establish and maintain a tagging system for cloud resources to enable proper tracking, cost allocation, and resource categorization.
- Enforce consistent tagging practices across the organisation.
- Work with operational teams align on the provisioning and decommissioning of cloud resources to align with business needs. Implement processes to prevent resource sprawl and reduce unused or underutilised resources.
- Monitor cloud service licensing and ensure that the Client is compliant with licensing agreements and regulations. Manage cloud subscriptions and optimise licensing costs.
- Implement strategies for cost optimisation, such as right-sizing, reserved instance utilization, and continuous assessment of cost-saving opportunities.
- Work with the security and compliance teams to ensure that cloud resources meet security and compliance standards. Implement security controls, encryption, and auditing where necessary.
- Continuously assess and mitigate risks associated with cloud resources and services, whether financial, security, or operational.
- Provide guidance to cloud users and administrators to ensure that they understand and adhere to cloud governance policies and best practices.
- Utilize cloud governance and cost management tools and platforms to monitor and report on resource usage, compliance, and cost management. Generate regular reports for stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with cloud industry trends, best practices, and new features and services. Continuously evaluate and enhance the organisation’s cloud governance and cost management framework
