Description:
We are seeking 2 x Cloud Data Specialists to join RAC on a 2 year max term contract arrangement to support one of our core business platforms and provide support and guidance for the organisations data in the cloud. In this role you will facilitate the design and implementation of data solutions to achieve business objectives so we can provide unparalleled member experiences.
What will you be doing?
- Provisioning, using infrastructure as code, structured and unstructured data sources in the cloud environment to meet the needs of a variety of IaaS, PaaS and SaaS workloads.
- Implementing, maintaining and utilizing monitoring and alerting mechanisms for data sources to detect security incidents and application errors to help troubleshoot.
- Creating and maintaining backup schedules of data sources in the cloud.
- Advising on data source security best practices and the ability to implement and enforce security measures.
- Performing restoration or migration of data between environments and data stores.
- Managing and optimising costs of the cloud data sources.
What are we looking for in you?
- An automation first mind-set.
- Demonstrated experience in database and system administration at an enterprise scale, with a strong focus on SQL Server and proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
- Extensive experience with SQL Server, including in-depth knowledge of database design, installation, configuration, maintenance, and disaster recovery (DR) and high availability (HA) in both IaaS and PaaS environments.Experience with Azure data sources (both structured and unstructured) and a strong automation-first mindset, along with proficiency in CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub.
- Proficiency in utilizing DevOps tools like GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps Pipelines, with experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM.
- Experience with data management tools and PostgreSQL is desirable, as well as familiarity with data masking tools and techniques.
- Strong experience as a SQL Server DBA, with a proven ability to manage enterprise-scale systems efficiently and effectively.
