Description:

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

A key member of AWS Platform engineering team under our DPE Engineering Team you will be responsible to drive design and implementation of best in class AWS infrastructure to support State Street’s security, governance, and workload requirements. We are looking for a engineering focused and experienced AWS Engineer with strong grounding on AWS cloud concepts, principles, Infrastructure as Code/Cloud formation services and is able design and implement robust and automated solutions for operating cloud resources at scale and developing and maintaining a library of operating system images.

EDUCATION & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering discipline
  • 3 + years of IT experience in a hands on role with 2+ years of experience designing and supporting AWS environments
  • Understanding of Agile delivery process is required.
  • Experience in developing business applications in Jave/J2EE, CICD, SDLC tools/Processes.
  • Deep understanding of AWS IAAS, PAAS and SAAS solutions alongwith with cloud native design patterns and DevOps principles (Infrastructure as Code)
  • Appropriate certifications are strongly preferred, demonstrating an understanding of core infrastructure concepts as well as data and/or DevOps principles
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies with demonstrated hands-on experience in one or more of the following domains:
  • Core IaaS: Compute, Storage, Networking, High Availability
  • AWS PaaS Services: AWS Kubernetes Service, Event Hub etc
  • Data Platform and Bigdata: SQL Server, AWS SQL DB, , AWS Stream Analytics, AWS Data Factory / Data Bricks
  • Strong programming and scripting background in languages such as shell scripts, python, Java etc.
  • Experience in designing, coding and deploying Cloud formation templates
  • Ability to develop and document deliverables compliant with established company design control and regulatory statutes
  • Experience with AWS Governance and Best Practices (AWS Policy, Role Based Access Control, Networking Architectures, CSA’s CCM, Cost Management controls, etc.)
  • Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.
  • Authentication Protocols in AWS, Windows and Linux
  • SSL communication
  • Automated unit and integration testing
  • Financial services or regulated industry experience a huge plus

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

As an AWS Platform Engineer you will:

  • Design and build robust, scalable and secure technical solutions on the AWS Cloud
  • Work with platform architects to define components responsibilities, plan components evolution, and ensure components will meet platform needs.
  • Automate the scanning and testing of secure operating system images and deployment of patches and RPM updates.
  • As a member of the AWS CI/CD engineering team, manage pipeline requests from tenant and cloud engineering team members
  • Develop scripts to automate the deployment of and management
  • Utilize native AWS services to meet the firm’s technology and resiliency requirements
  • Drive Identity and access and configuration management, and monitoring strategy for AWS
  • Support operational activity to ensure quality and timely delivery of service to cloud tenants..
  • Create automation scripts for all phases of SDLC
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues reported by monitoring systems and submitted through the ticketing system of fully documented issues, actions taken, and steps for resolution
  • Performing other tasks as defined, planned, and approved by team lead
