Responsibilities:

As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in building, managing, and enhancing our AWS-based cloud capabilities, leveraging skills in automation, collaboration, and continuous delivery. This hands-on role requires a broad skill set and consultative approach to ensure best practices are implemented effectively. You will work closely with delivery teams to increase operational maturity, automate processes, and maintain a high level of platform reliability.

What’s the job?:

  • Build, manage, and improve AWS/cloud capabilities, focusing on automation and continuous delivery.
  • Lead and consult with on-site teams to implement and automate best practices.
  • Share knowledge and improve team maturity in operational practices.
  • Oversee platform backlog grooming, planning, and process automation.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure consistent implementation of IAAS, PAAS, and tooling standards.
  • Maintain common pipelines, production paths, and shared standards and practices.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to align platform vision with infrastructure strategies and Open Source/vendor technology.

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in Continuous Delivery, coding (Python, Shell, Bash), and a collaborative approach with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong background in build and release management with CI tools (e.g., GitLab Runners, Jenkins), and expertise in Linux (Redhat, Ubuntu, CentOS) and Windows, along with experience in public and private cloud (AWS or Google Cloud, etc).
  • Skilled in Kubernetes, Terraform, CloudFormation, with automation experience including unit testing and tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or similar.
  • Ability to design and support robust build, deployment and configuration management systems for multi-tier services using tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef or Salt and a good understanding of telemetry practices (monitoring, graphing, alerting, anomaly detection).
  • Understanding of networking concepts, technologies, and protocols (TCP/IP, IPSec, HTTP, FTP, DHCP, DNS as well as Palo Alto, Cumulus and F5) and expertise with software build tools (GitHub, Jenkins etc).
  • Experience of running software in production is key and demonstrable experience of working closely with and supporting the security administration process and relevant security domain leads, within a cloud-dev-ops context.
