Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We’re looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer with the ability to understand requirements, establish a vision and drive successful business outcomes in collaboration with multiple stakeholders. The Cloud engineer will be the designer, developer, administrator and the person responsible for the governance of our cloud environments & accounts. Primarily you will work on planning and deployment of Medibank applications on Public clouds like AWS & Azure, ensuring the application environments are well architected and compliant with security standards, and incur minimum runtime costs.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create design documentation for running enterprise systems in Public Cloud.
  • Provide ideas & inputs to the business on how to create well architected systems using Cloud technologies to deliver best possible outcomes.
  • Comply fully with Medibank’s project management methodology and delivery mechanisms.
  • Work with different teams to gather requirements and develop automation for creating environments to run applications in the cloud.
  • Ensure cloud resources are provisioned using IaC for version control, state management, reuse and repeatability.
  • Strictly adhere to Medibank’s Security Guidelines ensuring Regulatory Compliance, Data Privacy and Data Security.
  • Monitor and support our Public Cloud resources and the peripheral infrastructure and ensure high availability by acting as the gatekeeper for changes and updates.
  • Ensure ITIL processes are followed for change release, configuration management and incident/problem management including any issues post deployment.
  • Develop and maintain constructive stakeholder relationships with other business units through effective and timely interactions and feedback.
  • Explore, analyse and implement improvements released as features by the public cloud providers.
  • Identify project lifecycles, manage project deadlines and meet stakeholder expectations.
