Description:

Location: We operate a flexible hybrid working model across the UK, with colleagues linked to one of our contractual locations in Newport, Titchfield (Fareham), London, Manchester and Edinburgh, and working between office and remote throughout the week.
Salary: £43,013 - £50,050 (National: £43,013 - £46,654, London: £47,731 - £50,050) plus up to £5,000 skills allowance

We’re looking for a Cloud Engineer (known internally as “Senior DevSecOps Engineer") to join our Data Access Platform (DAP) team, supporting a newly commissioned Big Data Platform (Cloudera) and helping to establish and embed Cloud best practices into the team.
You’ll become a fully fledged subject matter expert in Cloud technology - particularly AWS and utilising it to support our Cloudera Data Platform. You’ll be designing and developing Infrastructure-as-Code, source code repositories and CI/CD pipelines, and help to define what “secure by design” means for this platform and for our Cloud environments in general.
Who are we looking for?

Someone who is:

  • Familiar with Big Data platforms - Especially Cloudera Data Platform!
  • Experienced administering AWS
  • Knowledgeable about Cloud infrastructure security principles
  • Familiar with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (like Terraform)
  • Familiar with CI/CD pipelines (like Concourse)
  • Familiar with containerisation technology (like Kubernetes)
  • Capable of resolving complex technical issues
  • An excellent communicator
  • Comfortable providing constructive feedback & mentoring to junior colleagues
