Ricoh are currently recruiting for a Cloud Engineer based in Birmingham where you will be responsible for monitoring, managing and maintaining the platforms, as well as engaging in project related activities to optimise and upgrade the cloud infrastructure utilising DevOps practices.

What you will be doing
- Tackle complex challenges, creating reliable and efficient systems designed for large-scale usage, while demonstrating insight and enthusiasm, and a willingness to innovate and push the boundaries of Cloud and DevOps practices.
- Responsible for optimal monitoring and alert management across the cloud infrastructure and database solutions.
- Proactively respond to infrastructure and database issues.
- Apply structured problem-solving techniques to resolve cloud infrastructure and database related issues effectively.
- Contribute to and follow security best practices.
- Own security tools and related processes.
- Support with the implementation of backup and disaster recover solutions and strategies.
- Contribute to the overall design and delivery of end-to-end cloud infrastructure, database and application solutions.
- Support and build effective automated infrastructure, development and deployment solutions.
- Create, maintain, build, and deploy effective infrastructure and automation solutions.
- Responsible for well-tested, reliable, and secure infrastructure management practices. Plus, managing both server-side and cloud-based features within the infrastructure.
- Adhere to, contribute to, and advocate for agreed best practices in DevOps and Cloud infrastructure management. Whilst following source/version control processes and best practices to manage infrastructure code.
- Contribute to cost optimisation.
- Mentor team members and provide guidance and support to junior engineers.
- Support delivery within Agile and DevOps frameworks, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
- Contribute to the refinement of the infrastructure and deployment backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals.
You will ideally have
- Ideal candidates will have proven experience in a similar role and undertaken qualifications in a related field.
- Preferably you will be able to demonstrate strong expertise in infrastructure management and automation across various platforms.
- Successful candidates will be experienced in managing cloud infrastructure using GCP, with proficiency in Cloud Run and Terraform. With a good understanding of CI/CD practices and tools, ensuring streamlined deployment processes.
- Ideally you have a familiarity with containerization technologies and orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes. Alongside the ability to demonstrate comprehensive experience across the full infrastructure lifecycle, from design and implementation to monitoring and optimization, ideally within an Agile framework.
- Successful candidates will also be experienced with performance tuning and optimization techniques for cloud services, contributing to overall system efficiency and reliability.
- You will be able to take responsibility for both personal development and project activities. Acta as a collaborative team member, contributing to the success of a team.
- Successful candidates will be excellent communicators and able to adapt to a changing department, team and project environment.
Ideally candidates will have some or all of the below Technical Tools/Skills
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Terraform
- Cloud Run
- CI/CD Tools (e.g., GitHub Actions)
- Docker
