Our Cloud Engineering team focuses on enabling our client’s end-to-end journey from On-Premise to Cloud, with opportunities in the areas of: Cloud Strategy, Op Model Transformation, Cloud Development, Cloud Integration & APIs, Cloud Migration, Cloud Infrastructure & Engineering, and Cloud Managed Services. We help our clients see the transformational capabilities of Cloud as an opportunity for business enablement and competitive advantage.
Cloud Engineering along with Operations and Technology Transformation delivers market leading expertise and industry depth by harnessing deep sector knowledge, scaling the power of hybrid services and products, and unlocking the power of Process Bionics to deliver sustainable and impactful solutions to our clients. We advise, design, implement, and deploy innovative and technology enabled solutions focused on “heart of the business” issues in specific sectors including Health Care & Life Sciences, Digital Banking & Payments, Investment & Wealth Management, Insurance, Telecom, Media and Energy & Resources.
Our OTT team applies deep sector knowledge and technical business operations consulting experience to take a more strategic view of our clients’ priorities, helping them to prepare for growth, embrace digital agenda, optimize costs, and maximize operational efficiency.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6+ years’ experience working with Utilities clients or experience working within the Utilities sector
  • Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI), GridEdge (Edge Computing) and Distributed Energy Resources (DER) knowledge
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Business Case Development
  • Capability-drive transformation
  • Operating Model Transformation
  • Strategic Planning
  • Scenario Planning
  • Market Research
  • Strategy and Visioning
  • Experience leading and delivering large, complex client engagements that identify, design, and implement creative business and technology solutions for large companies
  • Experience providing service excellence by identifying key client business issues, determining client needs, evaluating and validating analysis and developing recommendations for clients
  • Experience in overseeing the quality of deliverables through effectively managing teams and day-to-day relationships to ensure exceptional performance
  • Experience in developing and presenting proposals for business development activities
  • Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

  • Demonstrated experience in delivery excellence, with the ability to plan and execute projects to deliver a superior client experience

Experience:

  • Strong solution knowledge of AMI 1.0 and next generation AMI
  • GridEdge (Edge Computing/Intelligence), distributed AI, machine learning, cloud, 5G, and cyber security architectural knowledge
  • TOGAF knowledge is a plus
  • Experience leading overall solution architecture design and quality; this includes next generation AMI reference architecture, functional architecture, conceptual/target state architecture, and Proof of Concept architectures.
  • Experience collaborating with client counterpart architects to gain buy in for the overall solution architecture and meet client enterprise architecture standards
  • Experience developing use cases and requirements to envision the solution (not off the shelf)

Skills:

  • Proven history of generating innovative and effective solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to explain complex technical topics in an easily digestible manner
  • Experience visioning edge solutions that are net new (not off the shelf) by leveraging awareness of technology capabilities and trends
  • Experience with database management and proper systems security best practices
  • Willingness to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous project management experience is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, software engineering, or related field

  • Comprehend business strategies and requirements and develop necessary designs and plans to ensure projects and solutions satisfy those needs
  • Act as a contributing member of the project team from project inception to completion
  • Actively listen to client problems and needs to implement that information when creating solution plans
  • Provide advice and make decisions about which technologies would be suitable to use for various projects
  • Consistently monitor the scope of projects
  • Collaborate with project managers and other staff members to develop budgets and timelines for solutions
  • Assess and evaluate risk as required
  • Maintain understanding of how individual work and decisions fit into the broader organizational picture
  • Keep skills updated and remain proactively aware of happenings and current events in the industry
  • Mentor, educate, and train colleagues as requested

As a Manager, you will lead and deliver small engagements, or components of large, complex engagements for Power, Utilities & Renewables clients. Typical engagements include process improvement, operating model design, competitor benchmarking, cost transformation, customer and product innovation, and growth strategy development. Using a combination of direct management and hands-on delivery, you will craft solutions for clients, guide and oversee the quality of your team’s deliverables and recommendations and manage day-to-day stakeholder relationships. Managers will contribute to Deloitte’s thought leadership, play a significant role in business development activities, and own responsibility for the development of junior staff.
