MAN Energy Solutions is rapidly expanding their presence in the cloud, while optimizing to improve cloud costs. To do so, we have adopted the FinOps model of monitoring and reporting on cloud usage, and providing guidance for optimization of cloud resources.
You will join a team that is responsible for Cloud Technology on a global scale. The global IT team supports app. 15.000 users spread on multiple locations across the Globe.
You will become part of an international department of highly experienced & skilled cloud architects, project managers and specialists, located mainly in Europe.
We are looking for a professional who is interested in growing the FinOps practice and tooling at MAN ES. Join us for a great opportunity to both lead and to learn. In this role, you will contribute at an individual level and will use your solid understanding of the FinOps principles and domains, to implement FinOps at MAN ES.
As a FinOps practitioner, you will enhance our FinOps capabilities, and will have opportunities to drive FinOps initiatives within the organization. You will build a healthy management of cloud spend.
Starting by creating visibility, you will track cloud spend and find potential optimization. You project manage every commitment and transformation to ensure it is done on time. The FinOps specialist will keep up to date the tracker of savings to be presented to Management. Also, the FinOps specialist will gather all recommendations and define the priorities.
The IT organization is based upon Agile methods and will have the opportunity to engage yourself in various cross-departmental product teams. You will play a central role in defining the IT strategy.

In 2027, MAN Energy Solutions will move to Trekroner in Roskilde. Here we will consolidate all our current locations on Zealand into one large site.

YOU WILL PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN:

• You will evaluate existing cloud-based architectures in terms of the orchestration of implemented cloud services regarding cost-efficiency & scalability and define (cost optimization) measures if required.
• You will act as internal champion, by sharing your AWS/Azure knowledge and deducting best practices within the MAN ES Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE).
• Furthermore, you will be responsible for enhancing our cloud optimization tool suite in regard of envisioned features.
• With your entrepreneur mindset, you identify potential for additional services & capabilities within our FinOps Portfolio and introduce it to the CCoE community to increase their value contribution with speed and efficiency.
• You are part of an internal, agile team working with business-oriented colleagues, software / data engineers, cloud experts, governance and finance.
• You will get the opportunity to sit in the first row of the cloud transformation, building a whole new discipline from scratch and experience a variety of cloud initiatives.

To qualify for the role, we imagine that you have:

• Experience working in a FinOps environment, with examples of tooling/analysis provided to impact cloud spend.
• Experience working with at least 1 cloud service provider: AWS, Azure. Familiarity with billing constructs and basic services and being able to speak fluently about the 6 FinOps Domains, and associated capabilities.
• Able to independently own FinOps engagements with internal/external teams and drive to a measurable outcome.
• Experience with cloud cost optimization
• Capable of building Intelligent dashboard and reporting, e.g. AWS Quicksight, PowerBIKnowledge about reporting/dashboarding solutions such as AWS Quicksight, PowerBI are an advantage.
• A membership to the FinOps Foundation. (This indicates the candidate is interested in continual learning and makes an effort to surround him- or herself with like-minded individuals who discuss evolving solutions and best practices.
