WHAT WE NEED:
The Cloud Solutions Architect is responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of cloud-based applications and services. The incumbent is responsible for analyzing our client’s technology needs, recommending cloud solutions that meet business objectives, and ensuring scalability, security, and reliability. They also monitor performance and optimize cloud environments to ensure efficient operation and cost-effectiveness.
SKILLS
- Experience with modern cloud data warehouses (Snowflake databricks)
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies is preferred
- Proficiency in SQL and data modeling
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of data governance and security best practices
- Experience with Azure resource groups and services
KNOWLEDGE
- Cloud Platforms: Proficiency in Azure and AWS
- Data Warehousing: Experience with Snowflake
- Modern Data Stack: Understanding of current technologies and trends
- ETL/ELT Solutions: Familiarity with dbt and modern extraction, loading, and transformation (ELT) tools (nice to have)
- Containerization: Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
- SDLC: Strong understanding of modern software development lifecycle practices
EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience as a Cloud Solution Architect or similar role.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
- Design highly scalable and reliable data architectures that meet performance and security requirements
- Recommend best practices for containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
- Collaborate with data engineers and product managers to align solutions with business needs
- Provide guidance on deploying and managing cloud infrastructure on Azure and AWS
- Create technical documentation and provide training on best practices and new technologies
- Advise on the use of modern data stack components (dbt, Fivetran, Airflow) for data integration and transformation
- Evaluate new technologies and tools to continuously improve the architecture and data processing capabilities
- Adhoc tasks, as assigned
