Responsibilities:

WHAT THE ROLE ENTAILS

CloudHQ has an exciting opportunity for an Indirect Tax Manager with extensive Value Added Tax experience to join our growing team. The successful candidate will work closely with the other members of our tax team in addition to working with accounting and finance teams to determine the appropriate application of VAT to company invoices, facilitate the preparation and review of VAT returns in multiple jurisdictions, and assist with any inquiries from authorities. The candidate will also consult with the company’s tax advisors to ensure compliance with both current and prospective tax laws during all phases of the development and operation of our data centers. The successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be VAT compliance and structuring across Europe. However, they will also have the opportunity to contribute to indirect tax projects in LATAM and APAC regions, as well as expand their role into broader global tax initiatives.

What you will get to do

  • Managing the preparation of complex / high volume VAT declarations from beginning to end, including data collection, preparation in accordance with the filing protocol, submission, payment, and upload in the VAT filing dashboard
  • Working closely with accounting and finance departments to ensure all reclaimable VAT is recovered
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining internal controls for indirect taxes, and identifying potential improvements
  • Gathering necessary support documentation for VAT reporting, request VAT invoice revisions and VAT invoice credits as necessary
  • Administering pro-forma invoices, ensuring valid VAT invoices are received, and duly included in the VAT return
  • Responding to tax audit queries across multiple jurisdictions
  • Collaboration with external consultants and providing sound VAT advice to leadership
  • Ongoing monitoring of exemptions, to ensure compliance with any de minimus thresholds
  • Work with the tax team on various other projects

Requirements:

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

  • A Bachelor’s degree, Accounting and/or Finance major preferred
  • A minimum of three (3) years of VAT Tax experience
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically MS Excel
  • Fluent in English, proficiency in German or French is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
