Cluster Finance Manager
The role aims to be recognized as trusted advisors to the business. This role supports their finance leader to develop their finance team and enables them to Thrive. The role communicates with impact to all stakeholders, ensures a robust control and compliance environment and is aware of the EMEA finance management company value proposition, which is attractive to existing and new owners. The role partners with our business to maximize profit for our shareholders and owners and supports the finance leader to innovate and to deliver an industry leading efficient finance organization.
What will I be doing?
The Cluster Finance Manager is accountable for the portfolio of hotels in respect of understanding and driving financial performance and is responsible to perform all finance activities within the policy, regulatory and contractual framework.
The role will business partner with the General Manager and has accountability for developing excellent working relationships across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including within Hotel Finance, Commercial, IT, Procurement, Human Resources, Operations, Shared Service Centers (where applicable), Owners and Asset Managers as well as Regional Operations Finance. The Finance Manager works closely with all Business Partners to develop best-in-class hotel Finance teams, including participation in all relevant Finance development programs.
You will be and remain familiar with the management agreement for the Hotel and implement processes and procedures to ensure the Hotel is operated in compliance with the management agreement, reporting issues of non-compliance to your supervising manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Maximise profitability and performance of Managed / Leased Hotels or cluster of hotels in scope
  • Partner with Central Corporate Functions to identify areas of opportunity to increase revenues or reduce costs across the estates
  • Lead commercial financial analysis, monthly forecasts reviews and meetings, annual budget, cash flow analysis and other financial benchmarking and tools
  • Partner with General Managers, hotel management teams to identify opportunities for the hotels (cost savings; revenue initiatives; working capital improvements)
  • Participate in and lead finance projects as and when required
  • Serve as a strategic business partner and financial advisor to hotel management and ownership, lead monthly performance review meetings
  • Assist and advise department heads in the interpretation and analysis of financial data, recommending courses of action to maximize hotel profitability
  • Demonstrate full understanding of Lease / Management Agreements and related implications for hotels in scope for the role
  • Provide financial oversight of capital expenditure projects as necessary
  • Hire, manage, evaluate hotel Finance Team Members and drive high performing culture
  • Build competence with relevant Team Members through training, best practice sharing, recognition and rewards, and other professional development opportunities
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as and when assigned or required
  • Act in accordance with fire, health and safety regulations on property and follow the correct procedures when required
  • Ensure hotels are in compliance with Corporate Policies (SPi’s) and governmental rules and regulations and report irregularities and non-compliant situations as required by corporate guidelines
  • Ensure that the best interest of the hotels, Hilton International and owners are protected and seek advice from the Regional Director of Finance if and when required
  • Provide direction and directives to the departmental Team members in the performance of their duties, establishing work priorities and in achieving management objectives
  • Determine staffing needs and oversee the recruiting, selecting, hiring, training and developing of certain departmental Team members
  • Hold regular communication meetings and ensure that hotel finance Team is kept informed of all relevant hotel and company information, news and initiatives
  • Oversee and evaluate business processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness within the department
  • Ability to deliver presentations and effectively present to hotel Team, owners and Regional Team
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills (all levels of management and external customers)
  • Ensure month end reporting to owner and Hilton is completed within the deadlines
