SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:

  • Master’s degree in physical or climate sciences or any other appropriate scientific field;
  • At least three years of relevant work experience;
  • Expertise in scientific or data infrastructure project and program management and facilitation;
  • Experience with coding languages including Python, C, or Fortran;
  • Expertise in working in an international environment with globally distributed teams;
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and mediation skills.
  • Proficiency in English;

Responsibilities:

As Science & Infrastructure Facilitation Officer you will have the following responsibilities;

  • Supporting coordination, planning, development, and implementation of the CMIP data archiving and dissemination;
  • Providing facilitation support and management of relevant CMIP and WIP task teams and joint activities with the Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF);
  • Providing communication support to CMIP data infrastructure activities and engaging with relevant communities;
  • Promoting equity and inclusivity in CMIP data access;
  • Organising and facilitating infrastructure-relevant meetings, workshops;
  • conferences, training sessions, and other activities relevant to CMIP;
  • Reaching out to relevant wider communities such as PANGEO, Copernicus, and other emerging communities.
