SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:
- Master’s degree in physical or climate sciences or any other appropriate scientific field;
- At least three years of relevant work experience;
- Expertise in scientific or data infrastructure project and program management and facilitation;
- Experience with coding languages including Python, C, or Fortran;
- Expertise in working in an international environment with globally distributed teams;
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and mediation skills.
- Proficiency in English;
Responsibilities:
As Science & Infrastructure Facilitation Officer you will have the following responsibilities;
- Supporting coordination, planning, development, and implementation of the CMIP data archiving and dissemination;
- Providing facilitation support and management of relevant CMIP and WIP task teams and joint activities with the Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF);
- Providing communication support to CMIP data infrastructure activities and engaging with relevant communities;
- Promoting equity and inclusivity in CMIP data access;
- Organising and facilitating infrastructure-relevant meetings, workshops;
- conferences, training sessions, and other activities relevant to CMIP;
- Reaching out to relevant wider communities such as PANGEO, Copernicus, and other emerging communities.
