Description:

Job title: CMM Programmer
Location: Tewkesbury - site based opportunity
Salary: £36,000 - £38,000 DOE
Our client is a trusted precision components and engineering business working across various sectors from Aerospace and defence, oil and gas to automation. Looking for a competent engineer with a proven background as a CMM programmer.
The CMM programmer will work as part of a wider engineering led team to develop new programs as well as converting legacy programs from alternative software.

Responsibilities for the CMM programmer

  • Create QA documentation (FAIR, Quality plans, Inspection test plans etc.)
  • Develop CMM Programs for completed assemblies and component parts
  • Inspection of close tolerance parts in a prototype based environment
  • Support 1s inspection of all in-process components and sub-assemblies
  • Ability to read and interpret technical Engineering drawings (GD&T)
  • Ability to work with operators, engineering in a varying and changing shop environment

Essential skills, knowledge and experience required for the CMM programmer

  • Working knowledge of machining processes, CNC & conventional - predominantly; metal removal utilising lathes, milling and drilling machines
  • FAI as per AS9102
  • 3years+ CMM Programming experience
  • Aberlink software desirable but not essential
  • HNC Mechanical/manufacturing or production engineering qualification
  • Lean six sigma green belt
