Description:

Kinetic Recruitment are currently recruiting for a CNC Machine Operator for a 6 month temporary contract based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. As CNC Machine Operator you will operate a range of CNC machines, ensuring that precise specifications are input to complete the process to a high level of accuracy.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

ONC or City Guilds in relevant discipline
Previous CNC operation in an engineering environment
Experience working to fine tolerances
The CNC Operator position is on a 2 shift pattern (mornings/ afternoons) and paid at an attractive hourly rate. This is an initial 6 month contract however there could be scope for extension depending on workload on site.

Responsibilities:

Sets up and operates C.N.C. and conventional machines to produce components in accordance with specifications.
Makes necessary edits to NC part programmes to optimise the machining of components and feeds this information back to programmers. (This may need metric/imperial conversion.)
Select and where necessary pre-set tooling in accordance with ‘Tool Sheets’.
Check finished work in accordance with ‘Quality Acceptance Standard”, using relevant measurement equipment (e.g. Micrometer, Vernier, C.M.M.).
Maintains tooling, components, machine and working environment in a clean and orderly state.
Carries out basic lubrication and maintenance of machines in line with training.
Maintains documentation regarding quality and progress of the job.
