JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the Machine Shop Supervisor, the CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating our CNC milling machine, CNC lathe, or CNC router, as directed by the department supervisor. The Machinist will work in collaboration with other machinists (operators, programmers, and conventional machinists), our production department, and the mechanical engineering department to manufacture the equipment and parts required for our packaging machines and production lines.

• Collaborate with the programmer to find the raw materials.
• Selecting tools and raw materials.
• Getting the instructions from the programmer.
• Find the tools in lockers and cabinets of the machine shop.
• Set-up the machines.
• Operate and monitor the CNC machine.
• Adjusting the speed and feed according to the material specifications on the machines.
• Inspect the finished parts.
• Deburring and clean the parts.
• Place parts into packaging with identification.
• Respect applicable occupational health and safety rules.
• Maintenance and housekeeping of work environment.
• Perform routine maintenance of machines and equipment.
• Miscellaneous shop duties.

What we are looking for:

• Completed DEP(DVS) or ASP(AVS) in Machining.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of the cutting tools, cutting parameters (speed/feed) is mandatory.
• Proficiency using calipers, micrometers and measuring instruments to examine parts adequately.
• Bilingual - English and French.
• Detail oriented.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong time management skills.
• Willingness to learn new skills.
