Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Workshop-Based CNC Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC machine operating, working with large steel material. Must be dedicated to ensuring the highest quality of workmanship. This role will primarily involve loading/unloading, operating precision machinery, and recording machined dimensions within our workshop.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Workshop CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts and components of Conveyors. The role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail, as well as the ability to interpret engineering drawings and program CNC machines. The CNC Machinist will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and efficiency of our manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
- Machine Setup and Operation: Set up and operate CNC machines, such as milling machines and lathes, according to engineering specifications and job orders.
- Programming: Create and edit CNC programs using industry-standard software. Debug and optimize programs to ensure efficient machining processes.
- Tool Selection: Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and work holding devices for each machining task.
- Quality Control: Monitor machining processes to ensure that parts meet specified dimensions and quality standards. Make necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy and quality.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines to ensure their optimal performance.
- Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of job orders, machine settings, and production data.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, including engineers and quality control personnel, to ensure smooth production processes and product quality.
