Description:
Our client, an custom precision machining employer , located in the Vaughan area, is looking for an experienced CNC Milling Machinist to join their busy, dynamic company. The CNC Milling Machinist is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective set up and operation of CNC milling machines and performing simple to complex operations and tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Set-up and operate machine per setup sheet and NC program, and MOS.
- Set-up and verify tools on machine using tool list, take measurement to ensure conforming part.
- Handle material and parts as required; load/unload stock from machine.
- Perform first-off inspection and Operator in Process inspections and record results on MOS
- Ensure gauges and measuring equipment is in good working condition and is within calibration date.
- Comply with all health and safety rules and regulations.
- Use or wear any equipment, protective devices or clothing provided.
- Report any known missing or defective equipment or protective devices
- Report any known workplace hazards and report known violations of the Act or regulations.
- Conduct daily inspection and maintenance of machine, ensure fixtures and tools are visually inspected for damage and returned to store after use.
- Work with NC programmer to resolve machining issue, and suggest improvement on existing NC programs.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Grade 10 education or equivalent.
- 7 – 10 year experiences in a precision machining environment
- Ability to set up and operate CNC milling machines
- Ability to solve machining problems.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Ability to process travellers and set-up sheets.
- Ability to write and edit small simple programs.
- Ability to use measuring equipment.
- Ability to perform first article and first off inspections.
- Ability to accurately perform time and unit reporting.
- Knowledge of speed and feed.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
