Description:

WPS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Co-Op Engineer - Natural Gas in our Green Bay, Wisconsin location. This role will start in January 2025 through August. The hourly rate for this position is $21.40 with paid company holidays.

JOB SUMMARY

Students will be provided with an opportunity to develop skills in engineering fundamentals related to the gas industry and overall project management. This position will enable the student to build a working knowledge of natural gas transmission and distribution engineering with exposure to a variety of gas facilities, construction projects, system maintenance, and asset management systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma, HSED, or GED
  • Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering majors
  • Minimum GPA of 2.8 or above

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering

Responsibilities:

  • Support survey management software, hardware, and compliance monitoring tools.
  • Support GIS models of gas distribution systems.
  • Review and analyze gas asset information in various data systems (services, mains, valves, stations) and perform required updates.
  • Participate in training opportunities to learn about the natural gas industry, construction standards, work procedures, and associated materials.
  • Perform site visits to observe utility construction, maintenance, and customer service functions.
  • Design and generate reports for engineering, regulatory, and operational requests.
  • Produce system training materials (manuals, reference guides, presentations) for end-users.
