Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Accountabilities: With Nova Scotia Power’s Environmental Services, Hydro and Wind team, you will be responsible for providing support to the environmental services team on various hydro operational and capital projects, including:
- Supporting fieldwork, including water quality, wetland, fish and aquatic habitat surveys and studies
- Providing environmental support to other NSP work groups, such as hydro capital and hydro operations teams
- Supporting contractor management, including contractor safety requirements and environmental compliance monitoring
- Preparing permit applications and reviewing and preparing environmental reports
- Attending planning meetings, site visits and team meetings
You will be responsible for prioritizing regular travel to various NS Power sites across the province as required.
You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers, by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.
