DURATION

Seeking candidates for co-op opportunities during the Spring of 2025. The position will up to 40 hrs/week.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND NEEDED EXPERIENCE:

  • Entering Junior year or higher; candidate must be currently enrolled pursuing a degree at an accredited university
  • History of academic achievement: GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Participation in school or extracurricular activities and experience in leadership roles
  • Programming Languages
  • C / C++
  • Python
  • MATLAB / Simulink

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

This role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment, and to support/promote the graduate’s career goals through contact with professionals in their field of study. This experience enables students to participate in professional activities for Volvo Construction Equipment (VCE) by working on important and innovative projects. The program is a structured learning experience where students and our full-time professionals work together on projects within their selected organization. The program allows students to integrate knowledge and skills in a manner that is mutually beneficial to the student and VCE.

RESPONSIBILITIES / MAIN TASKS

The ideal candidate will be an engineer with at least 2 years experience toward an engineering degree. The candidate should be a skilled software engineer with a good understanding of electrical systems.

This position will support the Software Team in its product development and product maintenance efforts at the Shippensburg, PA facility. Specific responsibilities for the resource are:

  • Support development activities in our new product development projects
  • Prepare written reports or presentations on completed work
  • Support engineering activities of senior engineers
  • Coordination of activities with other teams within the company
