QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- M.SC or PhD in Materials Science or Engineering
- 5 plus years of experience in coating development
- Hands-on equipment knowledge related to materials laboratory and coating process
- Process knowledge of different coating methods and powder metallurgy
- Customer-focused approach to dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of engineering and testing procedures
- Ability to manage priorities and deliver against deadlines.
- A high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude with the ability to work independently and/or as part of a team
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Travel of up to 10% might be required for this role
Responsibilities:
- Research and develop new coating formulations.
- Fabricate and test the selected coatings in various high temperature environments using design of experiments.
- Responsible for project planning, design of experiments, and ensuring the coating meets quality standards
- Optimize coating formulation and application for quality improvement
- Coordinate research projects with other scientists and engineers.
- Lead and/or participate in the scale up activity from lab to manufacturing and commercializing.
- Ensure all tests and procedures meet company and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate, detailed analysis and reporting records.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety.
- Other duties as assigned.
