QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • M.SC or PhD in Materials Science or Engineering
  • 5 plus years of experience in coating development
  • Hands-on equipment knowledge related to materials laboratory and coating process
  • Process knowledge of different coating methods and powder metallurgy
  • Customer-focused approach to dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of engineering and testing procedures
  • Ability to manage priorities and deliver against deadlines.
  • A high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude with the ability to work independently and/or as part of a team

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel of up to 10% might be required for this role

Responsibilities:

  • Research and develop new coating formulations.
  • Fabricate and test the selected coatings in various high temperature environments using design of experiments.
  • Responsible for project planning, design of experiments, and ensuring the coating meets quality standards
  • Optimize coating formulation and application for quality improvement
  • Coordinate research projects with other scientists and engineers.
  • Lead and/or participate in the scale up activity from lab to manufacturing and commercializing.
  • Ensure all tests and procedures meet company and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed analysis and reporting records.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.
