Description:

CODING COACH

There’s a growing skills shortage worldwide and filling this talent pipeline underpins our education ethos. That’s where Code Institute’s Full-Stack Development Program comes in. Our online students are dedicated, passionate and determined, and they can use your help to study more effectively, build their problem-solving skills, and land their first developer role.
The role of the Coding Coach is to support the Learning Facilitator on the programme and to help students become competent problem solvers. They will be primarily assigned to the bootcamp classes. They are competent in all of the bootcamp subjects and can provide coding and learning assistance to students.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency with the following coding technologies taught in our Full-Stack course: HTML, CSS, JS, Python and Django.
  • Problem solving skills, including code reading ability, deductive reasoning and the ability to effectively use Google and online documentation sources, while applying critical reading skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, particularly when explaining technical topics.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Prior teaching/tutoring experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering coding assistance to the bootcamp students in a timely manner.
  • Managing code assist requests, assessing the problem statements and supporting the students accordingly.
  • Creating case studies, adding them to the library and presenting them to the class.
  • Supporting the Facilitator on students’ ILPs when required.
  • Acting as a back-up for running daily stand-up and stand-down sessions.
  • Co-managing and delivering behavioural sessions.
  • Participating in the planning, development and continuous improvement of the software systems used to provide support to students and process analytics data.
