At the Coffee Cart Company, we entrust two Duty Managers with the vital task of overseeing the day-to-day operations of each of our cafés. These individuals are instrumental in maintaining the professionalism and efficiency of our establishments by adhering to company processes and setting high standards.

As a Duty Manager your responsibilities would include establishing the culture and pace of the café, ensuring that staff are well-trained and supported, and maintaining morale and enthusiasm among the team. Playing a pivotal role in upholding our commitment to delivering exceptional service and ensuring that every customer experience is positive and memorable.
In addition, you would be required to diligently follow procedures and create a supportive and energetic environment. As Duty Manager you would contribute significantly to the overall success and reputation of our cafés. Your dedication and leadership is instrumental in creating an atmosphere where both customers and staff feel valued and appreciated.

Responsibilities:

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

· Ordering Daily Essentials: Ensuring timely procurement of daily essentials such as milk to support uninterrupted service.
· Communication with Shift Leaders: Effectively communicating any necessary changes or updates to Shift Leaders to maintain operational efficiency.
· Adherence to Company Policies: Ensuring strict adherence to company policies and procedures, including hygiene and safety standards, to uphold the integrity of our brand.
· Banking Tasks Management: Managing banking tasks to maintain financial integrity and accountability.
· Performance Reviews: Conducting comprehensive 7/14/30-day reviews with detailed notes to provide feedback and support staff development.
· Training and Development: Providing shop floor training and development initiatives to enhance staff skills and performance.
· Monthly Team Meetings: Organising and leading monthly meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and pertinent information to the team, fostering alignment and cohesion.
· Hygiene Standards Oversight: Overseeing deep cleaning initiatives to ensure adherence to hygiene standards and maintain a clean and inviting environment for our customers.
· Weekly Coordination Meetings: Facilitating weekly meetings to ensure team alignment and coordination, enhancing operational efficiency.
· Supervision of Staff: Supervising and directing staff during their shifts to maintain efficiency and productivity, providing guidance and support as needed.
· Best Coffee Program Supervision: Collaborating with Head Baristas to oversee the Best Coffee program for quality control and consistency.
· Inventory Management: Overseeing inventory management, including monitoring stock levels, replenishment, and waste reduction efforts.
· Gelato Training Sessions: Arranging and conducting gelato training sessions to enhance staff product knowledge and service skills.
· On-Call Responsibilities: Being on-call to manage unexpected staff absences due to sickness or other unforeseen circumstances, ensuring continuity of operations.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE:

  • Team/Shift Leader or Management experience 2 years (required)
  • Cafe experience: 3 years (required)
  • Customer service: 3 years (required)
  • Car driver with clean licence as work is often required across two different Herefordshire sites
