Description:

Are you a motivated, professional, and experienced Cognitive Analytical Therapist? Then come join us as a CAT Therapist and Supervisor in the Complex Emotional Difficulties team.
We are looking for someone to join the Complex Emotional Difficulties (former ‘personality disorder’) team, who is a Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT) therapist and supervisor. You will carry a complex caseload and provide specialist consultation, assessment (integrative), formulation and therapy. People are referred because of longstanding, complex and multi-faceted difficulties (relational issues, emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, dissociation, complex-trauma, engaging in life-threatening behaviours, present a risk to self and others.
You will be an ACAT accredited CAT therapist and supervisor with clinical and supervisory experience. You will be line managed by the clinical lead and operational manager and will attend regular clinical supervision in accordance with Trust and ACAT policy. You will be a member of the Trust’s Psychology and Psychological Therapies team.
You will offer CAT individually, in a group format, and contextual to staff teams. It will also enable you to join the CAT Cornwall post-graduate therapy training course in a supervisory and training capacity. It is anticipated that you will contribute to the expansion of ‘core interventions’ and crisis support across our community teams.
This is a community-based role that requires frequent travel to various locations throughout the West of Cornwall and on occasion the whole county including areas that may not be accessible by public transportation. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate how they will manage these travel requirements.
Interested parties should be aware that, whilst working patterns will be flexible and include some remote working, there will be a preference for the successful applicants to be physically based within team bases in Cornwall for at least some of the week.
We’re an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people’s physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.
We are a people organisation and people matter to us. As part of the team, you’ll help support the health and wellbeing of the people who live and visit this beautiful part of the UK.
Over 4,000 people make up the Trust. This includes doctors, nurses, therapists, plus admin and support staff.
We work in people’s homes, in community clinics and bases. Some staff work from one of our 13 community hospitals. Our aspiration is to have great people, provide great care, be a great place to work and a great partner.
Approximately 568,000 people live here. A third of people who live in Cornwall are supported by acute hospital services in Devon. As a result, we also work closely with our partners in Devon. In the summer, and during other holidays lots of people choose to visit the area. This increases the numbers of people who use our services.
