Description:
We are seeking an experienced Colleague Programmer Analyst to join our collaborative and innovative technology services team. Bring your strong communication skills, passion for higher education, and professional Ellucian Colleague (formerly Datatel) programming expertise to assist our clients’ ERP integrations, customizations/de-customizations, and scripts to ensure clean data reporting and operational excellence. As a contract consultant, you’ll have the opportunity to work with multiple client institutions and projects as we assist campuses in transforming and customizing their Colleague instance to ensure optimal performance and data accuracy.
The Colleague programmer analyst position for CampusWorks is an important part of the client success team and requires technical knowledge of programming languages, databases, reporting tools, web applications, web service APIs, and the Ellucian suite of products to support the needs of clients. A significant part of the work requires systems integration, data imports/exports, and automation with scripts and programs. Infrastructure knowledge is also preferred, on-prem and cloud. The Colleague programmer analyst demonstrates a high level of resourcefulness, is able to solve problems quickly both individually and as part of a team and works effectively across practices.
Team members successful in this role are self-driven, able to understand the needs of the client and communicate effective solutions to multiple stakeholders and experienced at managing multiple technical projects.
CampusWorks consultants engage with our clients in higher education to assist them in fully leveraging their people, processes, policies, and technologies. We work collaboratively with clients’ functional and technical teams and our CampusWorks colleagues to evaluate current processes, design future-state optimal processes, and to architect, develop, test, train, and rollout process and technical solutions that delight our clients.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- 5+ years of experience at a higher education institution
- Programming (Scripting Languages and Envision Basic)
- Development and Architecture Documentation
- Report Writing (including SQL Reporting Services, Argos, and/or other reporting tools)
- All Colleague Modules (ST, HR, CORE, CF, UT)
- Experience with installation and setup of Colleague Self-Service, WebAPI, and Ethos.
- Experience using Colleague Studio
- SQL Server, Unidata, and Oracle (as needed) relational databases
- Data migrations (ETL) experience
Preferred:
- 10+ years of Colleague and Higher Education experience
- PowerShell automation, Project Management, and Leadership Experience

Responsibilities:
- Gather requirements and specifications in collaboration with end-user offices.
- Develop Colleague integrations following best practices and using tools like Ethos APIs, Ethos Integration, Data Connect, Colleague SDK for .NET, SFTP, Elf Imports, etc.
- Complete programming/analysis and/or testing using Colleague Studio.
- Develop and maintain technical architecture documentation.
- Develop and generate reports as needed for business and leadership review.
- Design, development, and analysis work includes collaboration and advising for both the end-user community and the client’s IT department.
- Participates in Colleague/Ellucian module project implementation and/or Unidata to SQL migration for Colleague.
- Patching, Cloning, and Installation of base Colleague Applications.
- Shares knowledge and best practices as requested.
- Contributes to the continuous development of the CampusWorks team.
