APS 5 - SENIOR CONSERVATION OFFICER, COLLECTION CARE

    The Library is seeking to fill an ongoing Senior Conservation Officer APS5 role in the Collection Care Section of the Collection Branch.
    Under limited direction, this role will be required to implement work plans for the area including setting tasks and priorities for others and managing workflow for the delivery of the functions of the Section and Branch. In consultation with colleagues, the Senior Conservation Officer will develop and manage the preservation and conservation treatment programs of predominantly paper-based collection material across four core areas including the digitisation for preservation program, new acquisitions, exhibitions, and collection loans.
    We are looking for people who are self-motivated, innovative, pragmatic and work well within a high-performance team of conservation and library professionals. Our ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop, maintain and support internal and external relationships and networks.

It is highly desirable that you have:

  • Qualifications in cultural heritage conservation and extensive hands-on experience of the treatment of library and archival collections.
  • Experience in communicating conservation principles to a range of different internal and external stakeholders.
