MŌ TĒNEI TŪRANGA MAHI | ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled Collection Management Librarian to join our Wintec library team. This is a fixed-term position, commencing Monday 4 November 2024 through to 31 October 2025, to cover parental leave.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional negotiation abilities to secure favourable pricing for student resources, as well as strong interpersonal skills to effectively advise senior stakeholders.
The appointing salary for this role will be between $70,400 and $92,400 dependent on skills and experience.
The Collection Management Librarian will be based in Wintec Te Pukenga; however, flexibility on location and remote work arrangements are negotiable. Reporting to the Library Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Oversight of the cataloguing of materials, purchasing both print and electronic resources, and resolving access issues
- Ensuring the library maintains the best and most appropriate resources for our customers
- Managing the budget responsibly throughout the year in conjunction with the Library Manager
- Ensuring staff adhere to the Collection Management Aims and Guidelines
- Collaborating with staff to align resources with faculty and student needs
- Managing usage and customer interaction statistics
- Contributing to monthly reports and business plans of the unit
- Balancing financial sustainability with resource quality
WE WILL BE ASSESSING APPLICATIONS AS THEY COME IN AND THIS ROLE WILL BE CLOSED EARLIER IF WE RECEIVE A SUITABLE CANDIDATE.
This position has been identified as a potential redeployment for kaimahi who have had their position impacted by the National Office review process. Therefore, in assessing applications, affected kaimahi will be given preference and priority.
