Description:

Witten LLP is a busy downtown law firm currently seeking a Collection Legal Assistant to work independently within our active foreclosure and collection team. The ideal candidate should have an interest in learning the litigation collection process.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from a legal assistant program
  • Experience in collection or debt recovery litigation
  • Experience working in law firm would be an asset
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent typing skills
  • Superior time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Strong skills and knowledge in Office 365 and familiarity with iManage is an asset

  • Preparing collection documents such as demand letters, Statements of Claim, garnishees, and writs of enforcements
  • Communicating with debtors, process servers, and service providers,
  • Managing the status of files
  • Updating the client database on collection proceedings
