Collections Specialist

We are on the lookout for a Collections/Cash Posting/Receivables specialist to join our team in the distribution industry in Jefferson, Louisiana. This role primarily involves handling customer accounts, processing cash/check/credit card payments, and managing disputes that may arise with customers. The position offers an engaging opportunity to utilize your skills in accounts receivable, billing functions, collection processes, and software like Microsoft Excel and Dynamics GP.

• Utilize accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics and Excel to perform tasks.
• Ensure accuracy in data entry, code assignments, and mathematical computations in customer documents.
• Investigate and apply unallocated cash, ensuring optimal account management.
• Process all customer payments made via credit card, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Research cash receipts, coding, and posting of receipts for accurate record keeping.
• Handle dispute issues that arise with customers, collaborating with Branch Managers as necessary.
• Perform other tasks assigned, with a focus on maintaining organization and planning skills.
• Utilize your experience with Microsoft Dynamics and data entry to enhance operational efficiency.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an AR/Cash/Collections Specialist role or similar within the hospitality industry.
• Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) management.
• Extensive knowledge of billing functions and collection processes.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Dynamics GP software.
• Proven ability to meet and maintain financial targets.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling accounts and financial data.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proven track record of maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
