About the team
Corporate Services teams at Metro are responsible for providing essential support services that enable the business to function efficiently and effectively. From Safety and People, Marketing and Communication, to Finance and Legal, and IT. Our Corporate Services teams work collaboratively to ensure that the business operates smoothly and as one team.
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Analyst to support the Metro Tunnel with the transition activities with a lens on OPEX forecasting, budget and Schedule 3 recovery. This role will play an integral part in negotiating process and system changes whilst influencing the governance process and controls where required. The Commercial Analyst will also support the wider team with their transition activities related to the current Franchise Agreement amendments both upstream and downstream around service and supply.
Please note this is a full-time max-term opportunity until June 2025.

About the role

  • Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure the commercial readiness of the Metro Tunnel Project
  • Partner with stakeholders from the wider business to ensure all appropriate internal governance and controls are met during the delivery of the Metro Tunnel Transition (MTT) regarding the financial and commercial deliverables
  • Prioritising all MTT Schedule claims are prepared and submitted on time
  • You’ll be responsible for the monthly reporting of MTT Schedule 3 OPEX
  • Support delivery of annual and quarterly forecasting of Schedule 3 OPEX in accordance with the quarterly forecast cycle
  • You’ll support the analysis, reporting and delivery of annual DTP budget submission

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting or Business
  • 3-5 years’ experience within Finance, Management Accounting and Business Analyst roles
  • Communicate with influence with a range of different stakeholders across the wider business
  • Experience in Microsoft Office with advance within Excel
  • Experience in the preparation and collation of financial information
  • Have a strong understanding of accounting concepts and implementing Financial and Business process
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to schedule work priorities to ensure deadlines are strictly adhered to
  • CA/CPA/IIBA (or equivalent) status are desirable
  • Have an understanding and ability to implement complex analysis and be able to present complex data to a range of different stakeholders
