Our Commercial & Industrial division designs, fabricates and constructs structural steelwork for a variety of different sectors including commercial offices, stadia & leisure, industrial & distribution, data centres, retail and health and education.
The division has manufacturing sites in three locations: Dalton, Lostock, and Enniskillen. Each has full-service capabilities and modern manufacturing processes enabling us to provide a high-quality product to a variety of different sectors. Each of our sites has its own strong reputation in the market and between them cover a wider geographical area, including Europe. They continue to set the bar high in their highly complex market!
Vacancy Details
In the Commercial Associate Director position you will have commercial oversight of all projects, working on the commercial strategy involved and contributing to the overall strategy of the business.
Other responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Project responsibility from a commercial perspective only.
- Oversees all commercial aspects of projects, including agreement of contractual documentation, cashflow, profit and loss forecast, variation accounts, claims, agreement of final account.
- Attending monthly project review meetings – variations, forecast final account meeting (including revenue)
- Manage the subcontractor packages / overview of these (commercial management)
- Client liaison
- Work across numerous projects at a director level
- Liaise with the project teams
- Pulls the revenue and cash together into a deliverable for the BUD
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
We are looking for someone from an engineering background, with technical and commercial experience, with end-to-end experience on major, high-volume construction projects. Ideally in the structural steel sector. People management skills will be required.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND REQUIRED
- BA Hons Quantity Surveyor (not essential but desirable)
- Alternatively, you could be draughtsperson or have undertaken a general construction qualification (HNC, HND, BTEC etc)
- RICS – not essential but ideal
