POSITION PURPOSE:

The Commercial Banking Officer (CBO) will be responsible for developing relationships in the market to expand and enhance the commercial deposit portfolio. The direct efforts of the CBO will result in obtainable and measurable deposit growth throughout the market. This person will also work closely with the Commercial Business Development Officers to add depth to their commercial portfolio and to enhance the client experience. In addition to new deposit creation, the CBO will offer the varied Treasury Services products to the existing and potential commercial/business deposit base. These products include but are not limited to Merchant Services, Insured Cash Sweep, ACH features, Remote Deposit Capture options. This position requires that the employee be invested in the community through participation in active organizations, i.e. Chambers of Commerce, BNI organizations, Rotary, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Generate new commercial deposit accounts through networking and direct solicitation to business owners.
• Direct sales and support of Commercial Services, including but not limited to Merchants Services, Remote Deposit Capture, ACH services, ICS platform, and varied platforms pertaining to the Commercial Banking relationship.
• Preparation and presentation of proposals to commercial customers.
• Training and on-boarding of commercial services and products.
• Coordination of service and installation of ancillary services with operations support.
• Provide support to existing clients on operational and/or technical problems related to commercial services, as needed, with the help of a Treasury Management Administrator.
• Provide routine and regular follow-up with customers post-installation and on-boarding.
• Be a resource for additional bank services, such as Mortgage, Retail and Trust.

Communication (Requirement to communicate orally and verbally):
This position requires well-refined verbal and written communication skills to effectively support and service the commercial services outlined above. The position may be asked to provide periodic reports to management regarding program success and updates.

Working Conditions:
This position will require travel within First Bank’s strategic market for consultative and service calls. As such, most of the working day will be performed while standing or sitting at customer and branch locations or sitting in a personal vehicle. While not traveling, the position will require general office work. Daily lifting of any magnitude is not required; however, occasional lifting may be needed to install scanners, merchant card terminals, etc
