POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Estimator is responsible for preparing and/or coordinating the preparation of estimates on large and complex drywall projects as required by client’s documents, provides complete conceptual and total bid price. The Estimator also plays instrumental in business development for the Company.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and evaluates Requests for Bid.
  • Reviews weekly bid calendar and ensures timely completion of estimates.
  • Prepares complete and accurate estimates and revisions.
  • Creates bid folders, proposals and schedules
  • Reviews construction documents (Division 1,5,7,9) and understands the scope of work to bid.
  • Performs job walks when required.
  • Executes thorough take-offs of construction documents using On-Screen Take-off.
  • Prices detailed conditions utilizing the current Quick Bid Database.
  • Obtains pricing for materials from qualified vendors.
  • Obtains bids from subcontractors.
  • Prepares cost analysis in computer by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items.
  • Where predetermined standard(s) are not available, build a logical estimate.
  • Diligently follows up on previously quoted projects.
  • Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, technology
  • Develops and maintains relationships with General Contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers.
